SAINT OF 9/11 weaves interviews with friend and colleagues such as Hillary Rodham Clinton, Bill Clinton, Rudy Giuliani and Malachi McCourt, congregants and Mychal’s own words. The film portrays Mychal’s life as a spiritual adventure and an honest embrace of life. SAINT OF 9/11 is the story of a life’s journey interrupted. I absolutely loved this film. I had like many heard of Fr. Mychal from my sister who lives in West Milford, NJ. I also remember 9/11 and the losses and especially one of the Chaplin of the NYFD. This was so moving in such a simple way. The lives that have been touched by this man will continue to touch others. I heard about Father Mychal and his goodwill for years. Being from the New York/New Jersey area his message was heard daily because of his love to help the needy. Not just the homeless, but people that needed him in their daily lives of struggle. I met him at St. Patrick’s cathedral one cold day in November. He was magnetic. What an honor to view this movie. The Religious Right may have turned me into a cynic who views the church , This touching and powerful film, however, reminds me that I once believed in the good works done in the name of God.
